The Xerces Society, a non-profit environmental organization that focuses on the conservation of invertebrates considered to be essential to biological diversity reported that 40% of pollinator species on earth are at risk of extinction in the coming years as a result of habitat loss, the use of harmful pesticides, and climate change.

Earth day is a global movement that provides a voice for environmental consciousness and environmental issues. The first Earth Day was founded in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson in the U.S. Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth's natural resources for future generations.
