SOU’s Peak Student Sustainability Coordinator, Liz Adkisson, writes about the incentives available from the City of Ashland for home solar energy and home energy efficiency improvements.
The apiary project is a student-led mission to raise hives of honeybees on the Farm through a student mentorship beekeeping program. This program will afford interested students and pollinators alike an opportunity to thrive here at SOU.

The Xerces Society, a non-profit environmental organization that focuses on the conservation of invertebrates considered to be essential to biological diversity reported that 40% of pollinator species on earth are at risk of extinction in the coming years as a result of habitat loss, the use of harmful pesticides, and climate change.
