ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
The Environmental Affairs Committee (EAC) is a committee of the student government. The committee works on sustainability issues on campus and manages the Green Fund. The committee strives to organize and provide information for on campus events and other educational campaigns that revolve around environmental advocacy, provide resources for students pursuing sustainability-led projects, and generally act as a liaison between the university and student-led efforts.
Additionally, the EAC oversees the Green Fund, which funds projects that address and contribute to SOU’s mission towards sustainability. More information on the Green Fund is here.
ASSOU’s Director of Sustainability and Civic Engagement is the chair of the Environmental Affairs Committee.
Students who do not currently hold a position in ASSOU are eligible to join a committee as an at-large student. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the direction of sustainability initiatives on campus, have a voice in future projects, and cast your vote without having to be actively involved in ASSOU.
