SOU’s Earth Week 2019 (April 15-20th) is an entire week dedicated to bringing awareness to the important issues facing the planet. It’s also a time for celebration! Student groups from all across campus have come together to host some pretty spectacular events. Check them out here:
Monday April 15
Meatless Monday
SOU Dining is kicking off Earth Week with Meatless Monday in the Hawk. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner the Hawk will be serving an entirely vegetarian menu. Check https://campus-dining.com/sou/the-hawk/ to see the Meatless Monday menus.

Viceland’s Rise: Standing Rock Part II (2017)
Over 5,000 descended on Standing Rock camp to stand in solidarity and protect tribal burial sites from the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Discussion led by Rogue Climate.

Nature Reading
Students, faculty, and community members will read short creative works–poetry, essay, and story–about nature, ecology, and landscape. Bring your lunch and enjoy listening to a variety of writing from the earth.

OSPIRG: Pollinator Party
An educational but fun event with booths held by local beekeepers, live music, free food, face painting, and raffles. We will have speakers talking about different kinds of pollinators and what can be done to help prevent their decline.
