Join us for the Governor’s Food Drive and Winter Day of Service!
Throughout the month of February, ECOS’ Civic Engagement Program is organizing a number of activities and events as part of the 2018 Governor’s State Employees Food Drive. All food collected during the February food drive will be donated to SOU’s Student Food Pantry. All money donated will go directly to support food assistance programs at ACCESS, Jackson County’s regional affiliate of the Oregon Food Bank Network.
Join us throughout February in these opportunities to serve and donate!
Faculty/Staff Food Drive Department Competition Week 6 Feb. 12-16:
Campus faculty/staff units are invited to participate in a friendly competition to see which department can donate the most non-perishable goods to the Student Food Pantry. The department with the largest donation will receive a $50 gift certificate for coffee and treats courtesy of SOU Dining and University Housing.
SOU Housing Food Drive Week 7 February 19-23: a housing-wide food drive in collaboration with SOU Housing and the Residence Hall Association. All students who donate will receive a voucher for early entry to the winter term RHA pancake feed!
Monetary Donation Drive: All month SOU employees are encouraged to meet the Governor’s Challenge by committing a monthly donation of $12 via payroll deduction to support food assistance programs at ACCESS. Students will be attending staff/faculty meetings in the coming weeks to explain more! Spare change will also be collected in the SU Foyer all month.
SOU Winter Day of Service with ACCESS Feb 24th: Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to register for this day of service helping sort food donations at ACCESS’s warehouse in Medford.
