Southern Oregon University invites the Rogue Valley community, and beyond, to the annual “Earth Day Extravaganza!” On April 22nd, 2022 from 3:30-6:30pm at The Farm at SOU there will be exhibitors, entertainment, an ecoquest adventure, educational mini-workshops, games and more, all in celebration of the 52nd Earth Day.

Location, Transportation, and Parking
The Farm at SOU is located at 155 Walker Avenue, Ashland Oregon.
Please help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and walk, bike, skateboard or take transit to this event! Limited on-site parking is available in the ScienceWorks parking lot and overflow parking at Willow Wind Elementary is also available.
If you walk, bike, or carpool to the event, stop by the Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD) exhibit, and you can get *two* bonus Ecoquest tokens to be used toward Ecoquest prizes!
Entertainment
Live entertainment will be featured throughout the event on The Farm’s Thalden Pavilion stage. Confirmed performances include Elbow Room Taiko, The Creekside Strings, the Oregon Center for the Arts’ Salsa Band, and more! Check back in April for a complete lineup and schedule of performances!
There will also be lawn games hosted by SOU Campus Recreation and a craft station sponsored by SOU EPIC!
ScienceWorks
ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, The Farm’s next-door neighbor and valued partner, is offering extended hours (open until 6:30pm) and free afternoon admission on April 22nd! ScienceWorks is fun for all ages!
Mini-workshops & Tours
Hands-on education and engagement activities will be offered for audiences of all ages! Check back in April for a schedule of tours and activities featuring:
- Mini-workshops and activity stations by SOU’s Masters in Science in Environmental Education students
- Pollinator Art Walk and Talk featuring artists Shoshana Dubiner and Iveta Mulhall’s art installation panels in the Farm’s Food Forest
- Tours of The Farm at SOU!
Exhibits
Community organizations and sustainability minded businesses will be hosting exhibits featuring education and opportunities for action around environmental conservation, sustainability, climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainable living, and/or social justice and equity.
Ecoquest
Visit ecoquest exhibitors and earn tokens toward ecoquest prizes! A number of exhibitors will be participating in the optional Earth Day Ecoquest, a tradition that has been passed down from the former Rogue Valley Earth Day organizers. Ecoquest exhibitors will include an interactive educational activity at their booth for an “all ages” audience. The activity may be a short game, trivia, easy craft project, or other activity that encourages learning related to the environment, sustainability, or social justice. Participants will be able to earn tokens for completing Ecoquest activities that can earn them prizes.
Food
Multiple food truck vendors will be on site selling food! Check back in April for a list of vendors.
